Press Release

The CTC project in the European Day of EAFS conference in Stockholm

The CTC project had the pleasure to participate in its first physical dissemination event during the European Academy of Forensic Science (EAFS) Conference. The event took place in Stockholm, Sweden for a full week,  from May 30 to June 3rd.

The CTC project was invited to exhibit with a booth during the European Day, which was part of the EAFS Conference, on Thursday 1st of June. At the same day, CTC  was presented during the slot called “the European Perspective” chaired by Lena Widin Klasén . This presentation was based on the abstract submitted by the consortium partner C&T on “Identification of terrorist financing”.

CTC’s booth attracted great interest from the present audience and received positive feedback on the work progress and its aspiration overall. The participants of the event had the opportunity to meet and exchange insights with some of the project’s consortium members (from FI, C&T and SPA) and the Project coordinator (KEMEA). The different stakeholders who were passing by the booth,  explored the CTC world, its aims and objectives and of course they interacted asking questions and giving their feedback on some matters.

Further, Mr Efstathios Skarlatos, the Project Coordinator from KEMEA gave an interview to the EAFS press presenting and analyzing the project in detail. Τhe day wrapped up with a presentation from Ms Maria Jofre, from C&T. The presentation included further details of the project, including the outcomes of a thorough desktop research that was carried out on identification of terrorist financing threats, trends and patterns. The audience expressed great interest and engaged in conversations through comments and questions on the project’s progress and system applications.

Overall, this was a unique opportunity to raise the project’s visibility among significant players on fighting against crime, and take advantage of enhancing the CTC’s community of stakeholders.

The CTC project is already looking forward for future events having already submitted abstracts in upcoming conferences!
